We were at about 4000' and the air is usually cooler than on the ground by about 10º or so. Today that wasn't enough, so as you can see in the third photo, we opened the window. Can't do that in a 747! We were practicing "slow flight" where you try and get the airplane to fly as slowly as it can without falling out of the sky. We had it down to an indicated speed of about 45 knots or so, which is about 50 mph. The airplane, a Cessna 172P didn't like flying that slowly, but it was something I needed to learn how to do. One more step in the road! Click on thumbnail to view larger image. All of the photos are by Jessie Greenspan.
